George Wachtel
George Wachtel is a Partner at the Law Office of Ronald L. Kuby, and is the firm’s principal litigator in matters involving governmental misconduct, including false arrest and police brutality. Mr. Wachtel brings years of high level experience as a communications and business executive to the practice of law. That expertise was instrumental to his litigation of, among other cases, Murns v. City of New York, which helped establish the right of Rikers Island inmates to sue prison medical providers for breach of contract, and Wahhab v. Rushing, which reaffirmed the potential liability of non-governmental business entities for civil rights violations. His background has also contributed to his effectiveness as a negotiator, enabling him to achieve successful settlements in a number of difficult cases.
Mr. Wachtel was born in Europe and educated in New York. He joined the Law Office of Ronald L. Kuby in 2001, after a career in business and communications.
